Study on 6G Use Cases and Service Requirements

The foundational document. Approved at TSG#111 in Fukuoka, March 2026, and the root of the dependency tree — every other 6G study opens by referencing what SA1 said 6G is for. Its conclusions now flow into normative Stage 1 as TS 22.270.

Read this before quoting the page

Do not quote a page count for this TR. The "590+ pages" figure that circulated early is very likely a conflation with the 590+ delegate count at TSGs#112.

Where it stands

Six use case families
AI-Native 6G; Integrated Sensing and Communication; Ubiquitous Connectivity; Immersive Communication; Massive Communication; Industry and Vertical Applications. Verbatim from 3gpp.org.
The AI requirements are the consequential part
SA1 wrote requirements for network AI agents, third-party AI agents, AI model training and inferencing, and AI data and traffic management. That is a far stronger claim than "use ML for scheduling", and it creates obligations in SA2, CT3 and SA3.
Theme
"Anywhere becomes everywhere" — the framing 3GPP used for the study's ambition.
